This competition promised to a beautiful future will run until 1st February at Pointe des Ancres, an emblematic spot in southern Morocco, very popular with surfers.
Pro Taghazout Bay, stage of the Qualifying Series 2020 of the World Surf League, managed to attract some of the best surfers on the planet such as Kanoa Igarashi, Frederico Morais and Kai Lenny. Representatives of Morocco are not lacking either. The list of Moroccan surfers includes Redouane Regragui, Aboubakar Bouaouda, Selyann Zouhir and Neil Aboufiras, Othmane Choufani and Abdel El Harim. Ramzi Boukhiam, considered the best professional surfer in Morocco, will also be there.
Ranked QS5,000, the second most important category of the Qualifying Series in 2020, the Pro Taghazout Bay is one of the most anticipated competitions on the calendar, alongside the Pipeline in Hawaii, on the island of Hainan in China, or again by Fernando De Noronha in Brazil.
It is supported by the Royal Moroccan Surf Federation, the Souss Massa Region, the Moroccan National Tourist Office, Afriquia Gaz, Fairmont Residences Taghazout Bay, Maroc Telecom, Aïn Atlas, Sol House, Surfrider Fondation Maroc and Surf Report Maroc.
