Many SNCF and RATP employees are forced to stay at home to look after their children, there will be fewer trains and subways that will run in Île-de-France and throughout France from Monday. However, 80% of traffic should be provided, as during school holidays.

Consequence of the closure of all schools due to the spread of the coronavirus, there will be fewer trains and subways in operation as of Monday. Like many French people, SNCF and RATP employees are forced to stay at home to take care of their children.

A situation that will not, however, be comparable to that of the strikes in December. Because if the offer will be reduced to a level of service equivalent to a period of school holidays, as specified last night by the Ministry of Transport, at least 80% of traffic should be ensured. A transport plan must also be detailed during the weekend.

The anticipation is the same on the side of the Parisian transport network which must also face the concerns of its agents. According to our information, two alert rights were thus deposited yesterday by the RER and metro departments which consider that the company “cannot guarantee protective equipment to the agents most exposed to this health crisis”. Concerns also present among railway workers of the SNCF. Sud Rail requests for example a new work organization.
