The authorities have issued a warning by the potential risk of injury due to the malfunction of the inner drum of certain washing machines. For what they have asked the owners of such appliances affected by this manufacturing defect to provide attention to the safety notice. Specifically, in the Spanish territory, the problem has been detected in devices manufactured in February 2019 under the brands Bosch, Siemens, Neff and Balay.

Our quality controls have detected a potential failure in the union of the inner metal drum. Under certain circumstances, this joint can be released during the centrifugation operation and pose a considerable risk of injury. SH asks all customers to check if this safety notice affects their appliance and offers the owners of an affected washing machine their free replacement.

The firms themselves have alerted the case and have ensured that “The safety of our customers is of the utmost importance to us”. To minimize security risks and as a precautionary measure, they advise that Do not use the affected washer at more than 800 revolutions per minute until it has been replaced. The procedure to verify if your appliance is affected is as follows. Examine the appliance shown above. If it looks like yours, check if it is affected by this voluntary security measure. Write down the model number (E-Nr) and the four-digit lot number (FD), as well as the number Z, which appears on the nameplate of the appliance. This plate is located on the inside of the door or on the back of the washing machine.

A portal has been enabled to enter the above data and check if your model is part of the affected lots. In addition, it has been enabled a call center with the number 900 555 060, which will answer consumer questions from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
