Syria: Tank truck collides with 15 cars and two buses
A tanker truck crashed into 15 other cars and two buses outside Damascus. The Syrian Interior Minister, Mohammad Chaled al-Rahmun, said Sana when visiting the scene of the accident that Ursachesei had failed the brakes on the tanker truck.
Several Iraqi nationals were on the two buses. The Iraqis are said to be Shiite pilgrims who wanted to visit holy places near Damascus. Despite the years of war in Syria, many Shiites from the Middle East and the Gulf region visit Islamic places of pilgrimage in the country every year. (afp)
