The Government has announced imminent measures to contain the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus and prevent the health collapse that they go through to promote telecommuting in companies. What percentage of companies use teleworking in Spain compared to other European countries?
In Spain, only 4.3% of workers connect remotely to carry out their work, according to Eurostat statistics, minimum and slightly lower percentages than European countries. The European statistics office gives the best percentages to the Netherlands (14%) and Finland (13.3%) and Luxembourg (11%), countries that are a long way from Cyprus (1.2%) and, above all, Romania and Bulgaria, where teleworking is barely non-existent (0.4% and 0.2%, respectively).
Spain is at the same level as the Czech Republic (4%) -country where 40 cases of infections have been confirmed today, with poor epidemiological perspectives and that today has prohibited the celebration of cultural, sporting or religious events with more than 100 people and assistance from students to colleges and universities throughout the country, or Poland with 4.6%, or the United Kingdom (4.4%).
