The Berlin police arrested a young man on Thursday night suspected of attempted manslaughter. The 19-year-old is said to have injured a 20-year-old in a BVG bus in Steglitz in the night from 8 to 9 February so severely that he had to be operated on several times.

The arrest was carried out together with special police officers from North Rhine-Westphalia in the Mettmann district (North Rhine-Westphalia). The 19-year-old suspect is already listed as an intensive police offender in Berlin. An arrest warrant is to be issued against him today.
According to witnesses, up to 20 people were involved in the conflict, which had led to the life-threatening injuries. Two 15- and 18-year-olds were temporarily arrested. According to the police, the injured person went to a hospital independently and underwent emergency surgery. (Tsp)
