This 25-year-old woman who is still determined to live on music and who do we see every week in the Antena 3 contest ‘Your face sounds to me’, retains a sweet memory of the success he achieved in 2004 thanks to his participation in Junior Eurovision with ‘Before dead than simple’ (Antena 3), a subject he is proud of: “I will sing it until I die.” There is nothing left of that joyful little girl and pizpireta because now Maria Isabel She is a beautiful young woman with very clear ideas and Many dreams to fulfill. In this interview he reveals them to us.

How is your experience in the contest ‘Your face sounds to me’?

Very good. I am very excited and every week I go with more enthusiasm, because we have created a kind of family between the contestants and the team. We make it more fun.

What is the hardest?

The rehearsals, because they are very hard. It sounds easy, but it is not. Getting into the skin of another character is very complicated.

Are you a good impersonator?

I am a singer, not a copycat. That’s why it costs, but you try to get as close as possible to the person you imitate. Each person has his voice and it is impossible to do the same. In addition, we have few days of rehearsal.

Blas Canto says that in this program a voice is not sought.

Indeed, a good imitator is sought. The voice serves you.

“In ‘Your face sounds to me’ we have created a kind of family between the contestants and the team”

Who would you like to imitate?

To Bob Marley, I always say so.

And who does not?

To someone from opera, because it is not a record that motivates me. But if it touches me, I hold on and I do it.

You want to win?

I am winning every week, but I don’t know if I will win. Anyway, I am not obsessed with winning. I wanted to win a gala because I wanted to donate it. I have fulfilled that goal, and I don’t know what will come next. Undoubtedly, there will be galas that I don’t win because I’m not good at all imitations. All I want is to continue enjoying this contest, which is a gift.

Of all your classmates, who surprised you?

Maybe the Gemeliers because they imitate very well. And personally, Mario Vaquerizo. I didn’t know him and he surprised me, like Belinda Washington.

You started in a contest with Eurovision Junior, is Maria Isabel contest meat?

No, because if I wouldn’t be in every contest; but I would like to be in all music competitions, although it is true that I cannot give the profile at all. I’ve been lucky enough to start in Euro Junior and now I’m in ‘Your face sounds to me’, which are contests that are going well for me.

“I still keep the essence of when I was little. I’m still a dreamer, I’m still passionate about music”

Would you introduce yourself to Eurovision?

Not today, I don’t know tomorrow. Now I am focused on my world, that I am valued as a singer.

Why this rejection of Eurovision now?

It is not rejection. Simply that now I am focused on my career, but of course I would like to go.

We have known you since you were little, how has Maria Isabel changed?

I still keep the essence of when I was little. I’m still a dreamer, I’m still passionate about music, I’m a worker and a fighter. Obviously, with age comes maturity and maybe now I’m calmer. Before it was a girl and now a woman.

Did you imagine your musical career like that?

No. I am very grateful. And it is much better than I expected, with the recognition of people.

“I think I’ve lived a better childhood than any child”

Do you think you missed something from your childhood?

I think I’ve lived a better childhood than any child.

By?

Because I have lived things that many children have not lived. I have met many people and I have been to incredible cities. For me, my childhood has been my neighborhood, my people, my dolls and my games. Then, on weekends I went to concerts and TV shows. He did the same on vacation. That is why I tell you that I have lived things that other children have not been able to live.

Of all those memories, which one do you prefer?

They are many. I could not highlight one in particular. I have met many artists, perhaps the one that surprised me the most was Daddy Yankee, I was nine years old and already listened to urban music. It was incredible.

The last time we were with you and you surprised us with this new look, we asked you if it bothered you to be compared to Rosalia …

I don’t mind that comparison. I get along very well with her. I met her after that interview. For me it is a pride to be compared with Rosalia. We have a cordial and companionship relationship.

Many of us have sung and enjoyed your ‘Before dead that simple’, are you still singing it?

I will sing it until the day I die.

“I’ve met a lot of people and I’ve been to incredible cities”

Really? Now, with 25 years, would you sing it?

It’s a song, but of course, I like to get ready because I am feminine and I like fashion and makeup. But I also consider myself a very simple girl.

In your town, Ayamonte (Huelva), what do they tell you?

They are very happy with my return and watching me on TV every week. They are proud because they know that this is what excites me most in the world.

When was the last time you fell in love?

Maybe it’s been six years or more since I fell in love. I may like people, but falling in love … that costs.

What does that person have to have to make you fall in love?

That is a good person and make me laugh, which is what matters most to me. And support me in my work. And that he loves me well.
