Banco Santander has transferred a total of 60 employees from the treasury area as a preventive measure due to the expansion of the coronavirus, as confirmed by Europa Press in market sources.
The workers have been transferred this Monday from the headquarters of the bank in Boadilla del Monte to a room in the headquarters building of Santander Spain, on Juan Ignacio Luca de Tena street in Madrid, as Bloomberg advances. This movement would seek to protect a critical area of the bank, avoiding the risk of contagion among these employees by dividing the equipment. These 60 employees are part of a team of 400 workers.
Banco Santander has continued like this BBVA’s steps, that last Thursday he transferred a hundred workers from the building of La Vela to the treasury room of Las Rozas, also as a preventive measure for the coronavirus.
Telecommuting for employees Santander has also recommended the rest of its headquarters employees to take their laptops and mobile phones home daily to be prepared to telework.
The bank explains in an internal communication that it continues to monitor the situation “very closely” and apply the preventive measures contemplated in the different protocols of action, as well as the recommendations of the health authorities.
