RB Leipzig players were invited to a group training session on Friday. Those from Napoli are expected on the meadow next Wednesday. The announcement may have surprised – even shocked – Germany which is at least as affected by the coronavirus as France, but RB Leipzig did resume training on Friday. After a week’s break, Christopher Nkunku’s partners gathered at Cottaweg, the local training complex, for an individual workout based on dribbling, hitting, and cardio. Coach Julian Nagelsmann has taken care to avoid any opposition that would lead to contact between his players. The latter were invited to shower at home, returning to their home with a meal tray concocted by the club’s cooks. According to the German press, RB Leipzig plans to repeat the experience in the coming days, in order to preserve the group spirit while keeping in shape troops likely to resume competition quickly. The Bundesliga is currently only suspended until April 3.
