The coronavirus crisis is shaking up a large part, if not the entire calendar of football competitions. To deal with the problem, FIFA could offer alternatives.
Most European championships expect to pass the date of June 30 to continue competitions. In this case, this would be a problem for players at the end of the contract or on loan because their contracts expire on June 30.

To clarify the situation, Christophe Hutteau, players’ agent, spoke in La Provence: “We should not worry. FIFA will take decisions and exceptionally extend the contracts until July 31, or even until ‘as of August 31, under the same salary conditions “, he explained.

According to him, if the championships do not come to an end, it would be a disaster for the clubs which would not touch the TV rights. Several scenarios are therefore envisaged: “One end of the season on June 30th, another during July and another during August. Planned in mid-June, the transfer window would be staggered and perhaps last a month”.

This is a possibility that would require many clubs to adopt a different strategy for the transfer period.
