In the UK, Health Minister Nadine Dorries said in a statement that she had tested positive for the new coronavirus Covid-19, the BBC announced on Tuesday evening.
The 62-year-old patient assured that after having read the diagnosis, she had taken all of the recommended precautions and isolated herself.
The announcement comes after a sixth death linked to the epidemic was recorded across the Channel. The United Kingdom has 382 cases of infection, with a population of over 60 million people.
The country’s medical association has recommended that general practitioners suspend routine checkups – such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or long-term heart or lung problems – to focus on the sickest patients.
