Developers can now sell their apps in a single purchase, valid across all Apple operating systems.
Universal purchases are coming to macOS. Apple has just informed the developers that they will be able to sell their application in a unified way on all the operating systems of the mark. Until now, this was only the case between iOS, iPadOS, tvOS and watchOS.
One purchase, for all Apple devices
Concretely, developers can now use this functionality by assigning a unique bundle identifier for all applications designed with Xcode. This was first seen in February 11.4 in the Apple development environment beta 11.4.
When an application is available on all Apple operating systems, the user who purchases it in the App Store can therefore also benefit from it via the Mac App Store and vice versa. No need to pay a second time to use it on your Mac.
