By losing at home this Friday morning to Melbourne Victory (2-4), the Central Coast Mariners have a tenth consecutive defeat and continue their catastrophic season in last place in the A-League. It all started well with an opening score from the 2nde minute. But the euphoria was (very) short, since only eight minutes later, the score was 2-1 for the visitors. Upon returning from the locker room Melbourne made the break and reduced the score to the 69e minute was again followed by an almost immediate backlash (4-2, 74e). In this new victory for Melbourne, Jamie Maclaren had a hat-trick allowing his team to remain in second place in the ranking. For Central Coast, on the other hand, the Stations of the Cross continues with thirteen points and four small victories in 22 days. The club has not taken a single point since January 12th.
