Innokentiy Samokhvalov, a player from Lokomotiv Moscow (Russia), died during an individual training session. He was 22 years old.
Lokomotiv Moscow announced on Monday the death of 22-year-old defender Innokentiy Samokhvalov during an individual training session while players are like the rest of the Russian population confined to stem the coronavirus epidemic.
“He felt bad during an individual training session. The circumstances are being clarified,” his club said in a statement.
He was playing with team B
Arrived at the club in 2015, Innokentiy Samokhvalov had never appeared in the first team and played for Kazanka, the B team of Lokomotiv who plays in the 3rd division.
“He was a kind and sympathetic man, a good friend. It is a great sorrow for our family,” added Lokomotiv Moscow.
His Kazanka coach Alexander Grishin told R-Sport that the player died of “cardiac arrest”.
