The board of directors gives the go-ahead to the contract after choosing the winner more than a month ago with an offer of 14.5 million.
One of the railway works for which it has been clamoring for decades and destined to end one of the absurdities of the Valencian network, the train connection to the Port of Sagunto, has already been officially awarded a contract. Adif’s board of directors has approved at its last meeting the award of the contract for the execution of the works of the new rail freight access to the Port of Sagunto (Valencia) and the improvements in its connection with the Mediterranean Corridor and the Cantabrian-Mediterranean Corridor .
The contract has been awarded for an amount of 14,519,969.75 euros (VAT included) to the company Obras y Servicios (Copasa) and has an execution period of 16 months. His offer had been chosen more than a month ago by the contracting table.
Currently the train tracks reach the nearby Arcerlor facilities, just a few meters from the port fence, but do not connect to the site. The new access is also essential to be able to also develop the intermodal terminal next to Parc Sagunt.
