The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, criticized the government this morning for the gap between the latter’s announcement regarding the masks received and those that appear to the regional executive in its delivery notes. The material gap would be more than 8 million less.
This has been reflected this morning by Ayuso on the Twitter social network. “I ask the government to review the deliveries of material to the Community of Madrid because of the 12.9 million masks it claims to have given us, less than 4.5 are received on our delivery notes,” says the president.
The announcement comes after the latest purchases by the government of masks from China. In fact, several of these items were defective and were handed over to the autonomous communities, which used them for a week until the Ministry of Labor realized that the material did not meet the required protection standards.
Likewise, Ayuso recalls that most of the masks available to him are for purchases made by the Community of Madrid itself. “We have bought and distributed 14 million masks,” adds the president on Twitter.
In addition to government purchases, Cofares also announced on Monday that from that same day it would distribute 4 million units a day to pharmacies until completing the 180 million that it has purchased in a macro operation that closed with several suppliers. These masks, which are surgical, may be dispensed by pharmacies without risk of selling at a loss after the price regulation that the Government has established at 0.96 euros per unit. In fact, before the Interministerial Prices Commission communicated its decision, which must be ratified by the Minister of Health through a Ministerial Order, pharmacies assured this newspaper that they were selling them at a very similar price.
