Cabinet decides to extend global travel warning


Because of the ongoing Corona pandemic, the warning for all tourist trips abroad should initially apply until mid-June. The summer vacation should be decided later.

No easing for vacation trips abroad: The Federal Cabinet has the current worldwide travel warning extended until June 14th. The news agencies Reuters and dpa report unanimously. This means: Anyone who has booked a trip abroad at Pentecost can cancel it after the Cabinet ‘s decision, following the warning of the Foreign Office called.

The assessment of the summer vacation should not be decided until mid-June. So far, the travel warning was valid until the beginning of May. Foreign minister Heiko Maas (SPD) had warned several times in the past few days that there could not be a summer vacation this year due to the Corona crisis.
