A private jet that Lionel Messi often rents for travel was forced into an emergency landing at Zaventem airport on Friday morning. According to Het Laatste Nieuws, the Argentinian star was not on board.
The private plane flew between Brazil and Tenerife and landed on Belgian soil just after 9 a.m. He took off around half past ten, but returned to Brussels Airport because of problems with his landing gear. After checks and repairs, the plane left in the early afternoon for Tenerife.
Lionel Messi had the number 10 of his jersey printed on the tail of the aircraft. The jet can accommodate sixteen people.
