Real Betis playmaker Nabil Fekir has reportedly become a transfer target for Newcastle United this summer.
According to FootMercato and Marca, Betis’ attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir, Naples defender Kalidou Koulibaly and Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani would be followed by Newcastle. The English club is said to be on the verge of being bought by a consortium led by the Saudi Public Investment Fund. But Newcastle is far from alone in this matter. Last week, the AS newspaper reported that Arsenal and Milan had both made an initial approach to the tri-color playmaker. As a reminder, Olympique Lyonnais is entitled to 20% on any resale, which would lead Betis to sell the midfielder more expensive than the market price according to the Iberian media.
Betis forced to sell?
The 26-year-old has scored seven goals and three assists in his 23 games with Betis since arriving from Lyon. Fekir would also interest Arsenal according to El Desmarque. Indeed, Dani Ceballos is nearing the end of his north London lending season contract with Real Madrid and it has even been suggested that he may return to Betis this summer. The Andalusian club could miss the European football train this season and will have to sell players.
