Dusseldorf. NRW family minister Joachim Stamp considers regular operation in kindergartens and schools after the Easter holidays to be excluded. The heads of state want to inform Angela Merkel about the next steps on Wednesday.
North Rhine-Westphalias Minister of Family Affairs Joachim Stamp does not expect a return to normally open schools and daycare centers in NRW immediately after the Easter holidays. “I think it is out of the question for schools and daycare centers to open regularly again next Monday,” said the FDP politician to the “WAZ” (Tuesday).
A step-by-step plan is being discussed with the daycare providers. A “catalog of measures” with hygiene rules is being prepared. It is discussed that these can initially be practiced with older children and then expanded year by year. “We could possibly start at the end of the month, but only on condition that the implementation of the hygiene measures can be guaranteed by then,” said Stamp.
On Wednesday, the heads of government of the federal states want to agree with Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) on the next steps and determine how to proceed after the Easter holidays.
