Renfe has reported on the introduction of a personalized banknote as a measure following the outbreak of coronavirus that has led to the declaration of the state of alarm in Spain and the approval of extraordinary measures.
This new ticket is acquired through all Renfe sales channels, which, as reported in a statement, is intended for the “safety, comfort and tranquility” of passengers. In turn, Renfe He has explained what it is and what this personalized ticket is for.
The personalized ticket that Renfe has implemented serves to provide the company with basic passenger information, such as full name and phone number.
The objective that Renfe pursues with the knowledge of these data is to be able to contact customers quickly and efficiently “in case of need, for reasons of safety, health or incidents”.
Thus, at the time of purchase of the ticket to travel, the passenger will have to enter these contact details which, according to Renfe, will be protected and safe, in addition to not requesting any data related to the form of payment.
In this way, Renfe tickets are no longer anonymous and become personalized with the data of each user, so Renfe will be able to contact them via SMS or email in case it is necessary before the sanitary crisis of the coronavirus. You can also inform the passenger about train delays or delays.
