The British laboratory AstraZeneca expects to be able to supply a billion doses of a potential Covid-19 vaccine this year and next.

AstraZeneca expects to be able to deliver one billion doses of potential vaccine against COVID-19 this year and next year if the tests are successful and the British laboratory said Thursday that it had obtained more than a billion dollars from the American administration for this research.
In a press release, the group announces that it has already signed agreements for the supply of at least 400 million doses of its vaccine potential, developed with the University of Oxford.

The US Department of Health has ordered 300 million

The US Department of Health has said it has ordered 300 million doses of the vaccine under development, with hopes of getting it from October.

AstraZeneca said it would soon know the results of initial clinical trials. If successful, the laboratory will move on to a new phase of testing in several countries.

There is currently no validated vaccine or treatment for COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus that appeared in December in China.

The large laboratories, including Sanofi, each carry out their own research and are at different stages in the development of such a vaccine.
