There is no official information on how much Daniel Ricciardo will make at McLaren in 2021. It is clear, however, that the Woking team is likely to put a lot of effort into the Australian service. After all, at Renault the annual salary of the former Red Bull driver was around 25 million euros.
Now Ricciardo should have signed in Woking because of the better sporting perspective. In vain he will certainly not drive for McLaren. Zak Brown doesn’t reveal how much Ricciardo will make there. The McLaren boss clarifies in conversation with ‘Sky’: “He is worth it, otherwise we would not have done it!”
“What [über sein mögliches Gehalt] is not accurate. But he’s a very well paid racer, “says Brown, explaining,” I think he’s worth the money. He has won seven grands prix. In the right car, I am convinced that he can immediately win a World Cup. It’s extremely easy to market. ”
“From a commercial point of view, he’s a very exciting driver. The combination of him and Lando [Norris] will be fantastic – they will be fans’ favorites, on and off the track. It is an important step for us on our planned path to have a Grand Prix winner in the car again, “said Brown.
Ricciardo drove for Red Bull for five years between 2014 and 2018, where he won seven races. In 2019 he switched to Renault, where he did not get past ninth place in the World Championship. His best result was a fourth place in Monza. In 2021 he moved to McLaren, where he succeeded Carlos Sainz, who joined Ferrari.
