The prestigious newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sporte devoted a paper this Saturday to the subjects of Zinho Vanheusden and the strange tacit agreement between Standard and Inter.
Standard paid 12 million euros to the Italian club to bring him to Sclessin. Nothing is officially signed, recalls the Gazzetta, but Inter has promised to buy it for 15 million euros thereafter. While in Belgium some have been disappointed by his season of ups and downs, the Italian press, meanwhile, is full of praise for the young Belgian central defender:
“His name is on the list of many European clubs. As everyone expected, Zinho has exploded for good at Standard de Liège. He has so affected the Belgian club that he should be ready to join the Red Devils , with Romelu Lukaku “.
Finally the Italian media concludes by evoking its relation with the management of Liège: “The Standard did not appreciate that it is opposed to a reduction in wages. The club practically fired it” advises singularly the article before conclude: “He is invited to find another team. And the first contender is of course Inter Milan which could pay the 15 million euros to bring Zinho Vanheusden back this summer”.
