Public Health France has also indicated on its site that 74 additional deaths had been recorded since Thursday in hospitals (a total of 17,944 deaths in hospital since March 1), carrying the death toll in France (houses of retirement included) at 28,289.

However, this new assessment does not include the deaths recorded since Thursday in nursing homes and other medico-social establishments, for which the data will not be updated by Public Health France until Monday. A break in the publication of data linked to the long weekend, according to the public health agency. The latest report published Thursday reported at least 10,345 deaths in retirement homes and medico-social establishments.
