It’s been 35 years since the first Nike Dunk was launched. The waiting time until the “Comme des Garçons x Nike Dunk Low ” goes on sale. Sneakerheads have been eagerly awaiting the release since September – now a date is finally set! (Also read: Nike Sneaker – These three classic silhouettes should be worn again this summer)

The new Dunk Low, in collaboration with the Japanese fashion house Comme des Garçons was created and already aroused enthusiasm at the Fashion Week in Paris May 14th in all CDG and Dover Street Market locations – including the DSM e-shop. In addition, the luxury sneaker will then also be available in selected concept stores.

Innovative materials and conceptual design

The new “Comme des Garçons x Nike Dunk Low” will be available in all popular sizes for men and women and also in two design variants launched: a simple model in black and beige – and a second model with a full-surface Comme-des-Garçons monogram pattern.

The label Comme des Garçons is known for being in its own collection and also cooperating with innovative materials is working. The choice of the new dunks was striking Nexkin – a semi-transparent stretch fabric that makes the shoe particularly breathable and hugs the foot like a second skin. Real Nike fans know, however, that Nexkin is not a completely unknown material in the sneaker cosmos. It has been used in various Nike running shoes in the past (such as the “Vaportly SP” and the “React Element 87”).

The story of Comme des Garçons x Nike

It is also not the first collaboration between Comme des Garçons and Nike. The new Dunk is much more like a revised reissue of the sneaker that appeared in 2017: the “Comme des Garçons x Dunk Hi Retro Clear”. At the time, the classic full leather was replaced with clear PVC for the avant-garde shoe, which was provided with logos of both brands inside and out.
