This Saturday, the Spanish government presented the future stages of deconfinement in the country. The football championship may resume the week of June 8. As for foreign tourists, they will be able to return from July “in safety conditions”, indicated the Prime Minister. Arrivals had been suspended since containment was implemented in mid-March. More details should be relayed in the coming minutes.
The country began its deconfinement about two weeks ago with stage 1. This involved the reopening of the terraces of bars, hotels and museums, as well as the gradual reopening of small shops. Only the regions of Madrid and Barcelona, the hardest hit in Spain, had been excluded from the first stage. It is only this Monday, May 25 that they will be able to start the deconfinement on their territory.
The coronavirus has severely affected Spain. The country has recorded nearly 30,000 deaths so far, but the calculation method could undervalue the balance sheet. Spain has extended until June 6 included the state of alert which allows to restrict the movement of people to fight against the pandemic.
