MONTREAL – The return to normal access and collection practices is imminent in public transportation in the Montreal region.
The Regional Metropolitan Transport Authority (ARTM) announces Friday that over the coming weeks, gradually, the validation of tickets, collection and access to buses will be done again at the front of the vehicle.
This announcement concerns the exo networks, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM), the Société de transport de Laval (STL) and the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL). Rules and practices were changed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Users must at all times hold a valid ticket. They must validate it or pay in cash using the collection equipment installed at the entrance to the vehicles.
ARTM also informs customers of paratransit services that they will be able to pay their fare in cash starting next week.
To know the details of these measures and the exact dates of return to boarding by the front door of the vehicles, the ARTM invites customers to inquire with transport companies.
On the other hand, the ARTM strongly recommends that users wear a face cover when traveling.
