The coronavirus epidemic has killed more than 425,000 people worldwide since China reported the disease’s appearance in December, according to a report by AFP from official sources this Saturday at 1:30 GMT.

A total of 425,282 deaths (for 7,632,517 reported cases) have been recorded worldwide. Europe is the region that registered the most dead (186,843 for 2,363,538 cases), but it is now in Latin America that the epidemic is progressing most rapidly, with a total of 76,343 deaths for 1,569,938 cases.
