In a serious traffic accident in Upper Bavaria, a 49-year-old woman with her two daughters and another adolescent died in a fatal accident. All four were in a car that came into oncoming traffic on Wednesday from highway 17 in the town of Denklingen for an unknown cause and collided there with a truck, the police said late in the evening.
The 49-year-old, her two daughters aged 14 and 12 and a 14-year-old friend had died at the scene of the accident. “The 58-year-old truck driver suffered a shock and was admitted to a hospital,” it said.

The federal road was still closed in the area of the accident site late in the evening. A large contingent of fire and rescue services as well as two rescue helicopters were used at the accident site in the Landsberg am Lech district. A crisis intervention team looked after witnesses.
In the face of a total of eight deaths in traffic accidents within a few days, a police spokesman in the area of the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria North spoke of a “raven-black week”. (dpa)
