The health authorities in Germany reported 407 corona infections to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) within one day.
Since the beginning of the Corona crisis, 183,678 people in Germany have demonstrably contracted Sars-CoV-2, as the RKI reported early Saturday morning (data status 06.06. 0 o’clock).
According to RKI information, 8646 people in Germany have been proven to have been infected with the virus so that the number of reported deaths increased by 33 within 24 hours. According to RKI estimates, around 168,900 people have survived the infection, 400 more than a day earlier .
According to the latest RKI information, the number of reproductions, or R-value for short, remains well below the critical mark of 1.0, namely 0.68 (data status 5.6. 0 o’clock). This means that an infected person infects less than another person on average. The R value shows the infection process approximately one and a half weeks beforehand. The previous day it was at 0.57 (data status 4.6. 0 o’clock).
The RKI had stated that the R-value was sensitive to short-term changes in the number of cases, such as those caused by individual outbreaks. This could lead to relatively large fluctuations, especially in the case of a smaller number of new cases.
Since mid-May, the RKI has also been issuing a so-called seven-day R. It refers to a longer period and is therefore less subject to daily fluctuations. According to RKI estimates, this value (data status 5.6. 0 o’clock) was 0.83 (previous day: 0.80). It shows the infection from 8 to 16 days ago.
