An MR adviser from Soignies was expelled from the party this weekend after having broadcast remarks considered racist and having refused to resign from his post, headlines Sudpresse reported on Tuesday.
The MR Sonégien decided, in concert with the party authorities, to exclude the municipal councilor Nathalie Dobbels. The elected MR and the section sonégienne say unequivocally condemn the racist publications shared by the latter. “They go against the fundamental values of the MR and do not respect the code of conduct of the liberal agent signed by Nathalie Dobbels in November 2018”.
Several reminders to order
Marc Verslype, the leader of the RM of Sonégien, speaks of a denial of the applicant. “We have repeatedly told him that we cannot tolerate such behavior. However, she continued, not seeming to realize that it is serious to distribute such publications. A radical position had become inevitable. The president of the MR Hennuyer, Denis Ducarme, abounds in our direction ”, he comments in the daily newspaper.
Dobbels says she is relieved of this decision and indicates that she will sit on the municipal council as independent with Steve Flament. He too had been expelled from the party a little less than two years ago, also for having made statements considered racist.
