“We expected the demand for the vehicle to be high as the Civic Type R it is a popular car with a strong and loyal fan base, ”said Steve Hui, vice president of sales and marketing for Sling Canada, in an interview with Automotive News. “The fact that it’s a limited edition with only a certain quantity available added value, but we were even pleasantly surprised by how quickly they sold.”
This special edition of Honda Civic Type R For the Canadian market, it was finished in Phoenix Yellow with glossy black accents on the mirrors, roof and hood vents. It rests on a set of BBS forged aluminum wheels that reduce unsprung weight by up to 8.1 kg, together with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. On the other hand, some improvements of the renewed Type R were implemented, such as new brake discs with high-performance pads and some suspension adjustments. The interior sports an Alcantara steering wheel and a redesigned gear stick with shorter travels. As for the engine of 2.0-liter supercharged, it continues to offer 320 hp and 400 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed manual transmission.
Honda assured that it would bring some units of the Civic Type R Limited Edition to Europe (we do not know if also Spain and, if so, how many units), but we hope it will have the same success as the Canadian version.
