Levante managed to neutralize Valencia CF (1-1) on Friday evening as part of the 28th day of the La Liga. Rodrigo Moreno believed, however, to have scored the goal of victory in the 89th minute.
An emotional lift for the third game of the resumption of Liga. At home for the first match after three months of interruption of the championship, Friday evening, Valence CF was held in check by Levante (1-1). Everything was decided in the last moments, since the score was still blank ten minutes from the final whistle.
Valencia thought they had done the hard part by opening the scoring in the 89th minute. Roberto Moreno appeared at the far post to cut a center after an excellent overflow from the left side José Luis Gayà. This is the third goal of the La Liga season for the 29-year-old Spanish international. The score then seems logical, the visitors being reduced to ten since the exclusion of Roger Martí in the 74th minute.
But in additional time, lasting five minutes, the French defender Mouctar Diakhaby was guilty of an obstruction on Ruben Vezo in his area. After using video assistance, the penalty was awarded and then transformed by Gonzalo Melero against Jasper Cillessen (90th + 7).
It was a bad operation for Valencia, who had the opportunity to temporarily double Atlético de Madrid (6th) and return to equal points with the qualifying places for the Champions League. Instead, the Blanquinegros remain taped in 7th place with 43 points. Levante takes advantage of the defeat of Betis, the day before, to take 12th row.
