The Ministry of Health confirmed this Wednesday 21 new deaths from coronavirus in Argentina in relation to the latest report, so that there are 3,200 fatal victims in the country due to the pandemic.
The average age of the deceased is 75 years old and the case fatality rate is 1.8%, while the mortality rate is 70.1 people per million inhabitants.
According to official figures, in Argentina there are 173,355 confirmed cases, with an average of 5,300 daily cases in the last seven days. Of the total, 0.6% (1,119) are imported, 29.5% (51,090) are close contacts of confirmed cases, 53.3% (92,435) are cases of community circulation and the rest are under epidemiological investigation.
On the other hand, 1,024 people infected with Covid-19 are in intensive care, of which 88.3% correspond to units located in the City and Province of Buenos Aires.
The percentage of occupation of intensive care units nationwide, both for cases of coronavirus and other diseases, is 54.7%, while in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area it amounts to 64.1%.
The number of recovered from Covid-19 is 77,855, which represents 43.8% of the total confirmed cases. This Tuesday there were 2,772 discharges.
Since the start of the pandemic, more than 392,744 cases of coronaviruses in Argentina were ruled out through laboratory tests, amounting to 675,011, which represents 14,875 tests per million inhabitants, with a positivity rate of 30.67%.
Globally, the number of infected already exceeds 16,341,920 cases, of which 226,783 were identified in the last 24 hours. The lethality of 4%.
In America there are 8,728,000 infected with coronavirus, which represents 53.4%. Argentina groups 1.9% of the total continental cases, Brazil 27.7% and the United States 48.2%. The lethality is 3.9%.
