In the statement, it was noted that 5 thousand employees working in the company’s operations in France, 5 thousand 100 working in operations in Germany, 1700 working in operations in the UK, 900 people working in operations in Spain will be laid off.

The statement stated that the company will fire a total of 2,300 people from the remaining global operations.

Airbus’s announcement noted that commercial flights have decreased by about 40 percent in recent months, it is not expected to return to pre-epidemic levels before 2023, and recovery may even reach the end of 2023.

Airbus employs 134 thousand people in its global operations.
