SAO PAULO (Reuters) – Brazil registered 28,532 new confirmed cases of coronavirus and 921 deaths this Saturday, the Ministry of Health said.
As a result, the total number of cases in the country, the second most affected by the pandemic behind the United States, increased to 2,074,860, while deaths reached 78,772.
Earlier, the World Health Organization (WHO) reported a record increase in global cases of coronavirus in the daily count, for the second consecutive day, with an increase of 259,848 in 24 hours.
According to the WHO, the advance in contamination was driven by the United States, Brazil, India and South Africa.
