Sound technician, teacher and researcher Tide Borges became the first woman to assume the presidency of the Brazilian Cinematography Association (ABC). His election also marks the first time that the association is chaired by a professional who works in a different area from film photography direction.
The election for the board of directors counted on the participation of two slates, both with female candidates for the position of president and with the objective, among other proposals, to expand the plurality of ABC, both among its members and in its performance as an association.
The new board, which took office on Monday (13/7), is also the most representative in terms of gender and the one with the largest number of representatives from different technical areas on its Board. In addition to Tide Borges in the presidency, the Board of Directors is made up of director of photography Jacques Cheuiche as vice president, director of photography Fernanda Tanaka as secretary director and art director Marcos Carvalheiro as director treasurer.
The Council is composed of Adriano Goldman (director of photography), Diana Vasconcellos (editor), Frederico Pinto (director of art), Llano (director of photography), Marcelo Corpanni (director of photography), Maria Muricy (sound editor) , Marghe Pennacchi (art director), Miriam Biderman (sound supervisor), Mustapha Barat (director of photography), Paulo M. de Andrade (colorist), Pedro von Krüger (director of photography) and Silvia Gangemi (director of photography) .
