Covid-19 kills 18 more in France, 128

Since the start of the epidemic, 29,861 people have died from the coronavirus in the country.

The numbers are going down, but the virus is still there : France has registered 18 new deaths linked to Covid-19 in 24 hours in hospitals, which brings the total number of deaths since the start of the epidemic to 29,861, the Directorate General of Health announced on Wednesday ( DGS). The next assessment in the Ehpad will be known on July 7.

Number of patients Covid-19 patients in intensive care continue to decline with 582 patients affected, 20 less than Tuesday. A total of 8,336 people are hospitalized for this infection (or 200 fewer patients in 24 hours).

Four regions (Ile-de-France, Grand-Est, Hauts-de-France, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes) still account for 74% of patients hospitalized in intensive care.

The epidemiological situation “is stable”

If the situation in Guyana remains “worrying”, on the rest of the national territory “the epidemiological situation is stable”, summarizes in its press release the DGS, which notes for example that the interventions of SOS Doctors for suspicion of Covid did not concern for the day of Tuesday only 3% of its activity.

“The emergency services noted 166 passages for this same reason, or 0.5% of total activity”, still notes the DGS. However, the virus continues to circulate on the territory, continues the Directorate General of Health, noting that 304 “clusters” (or foci of infections) have been recorded since May 9, including 3 new in the last 24 hours, and including 176 have been “closed”.

Since the start of the epidemic, 104,713 people have been hospitalized, including 18,391 in intensive care. No fewer than 76,549 people returned home.
