Sport, or rather, athletes have become the protagonists of the Kings’ trip to Gijón. After visiting the Cogersa recycling plant and the Cerro de Santa Catalina, where they have posed at the entrance to the exhibition organized for the 30th anniversary of ‘Elogio del Horizonte’, the sculpture created by Eduardo Chillida, installed in this magnificent enclave, Felipe VI and Letizia have moved at 5:00 p.m. to the Fernando Alonso Museum and Circuit in Llanera, where the pilot himself was in charge of showing them the facilities.
Don Felipe and Doña Letizia concluded their visit to Asturias in the Llanera, where the Fernando Alonso Museum and Circuit is located. The Spanish pilot, who is in full preparation for the 500 miles of Indianapolis, received the Kings and the rest of the authorities on such a remarkable visit.
In it, they toured the facilities of the museum that has numerous of the most interesting objects in the world of Formula 1. In addition, numerous unique collections.
After touring, with Alonso himself as an exceptional guide, the collection, they went to the assembly hall where they attended a talk on road safety, together with the children from the camp organized by the Museum and Circuit.
There, we could see the Kings very close with the little ones. In fact, they sat in the audience as if they were two more ‘children’.
Of course, it was not the only thing they did on their visit to Asturias. During their tour of the hill, the Kings chatted with a representation of the health personnel of the Hospital de Cabueñes. Stop next, pose with a group of representatives of the Royal Covadonga Culture Group, a socio-sports entity with deep roots in the city, in which was the canoeist Saúl Craviotto and Olympic hockey champion María López.
It is not the first time that Saúl poses with the Kings and hence his naturalness. To the audience of the Spanish Olympic medalists at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Games, in September of this year, their attendance was added, months later, to the presentation of the 2016 National Sports Awards, at El Pardo Palace. We have also seen the athlete at the Princess of Asturias Awards.
