Students can apply, starting this Tuesday (28.jul.2020), in the selection process for the 2nd semester of 2020 of Fies (Student Financing Fund). Registration is open at site and the deadline is until Friday (31.Jul). The result will be released on August 4. According to MEC (Ministry of Education), the period for supplementing the registration of pre-selected candidates will be from 4 to 6 August.
Registration for the program, which would begin last week, was postponed after the MEC identified inconsistencies in the processing of the distribution of vacancies offered by higher education institutions.
Whoever is not pre-selected in the Fies single call can compete for one of the vacancies offered through the waiting list. Unlike the selection processes of Sisu (Unified Selection System) and Prouni (University for All Program), to participate in the Fies waiting list it is not necessary to express interest, the inclusion is done automatically.
The waiting list will be convened from 4 to 31 August.
The candidate who has participated in the Enem (National High School Exam), as of the 2010 edition, and has achieved an average grade in the tests equal to or higher than 450 points can enroll in the Fies selection.
The person concerned must not have zeroed the wording and must have a gross monthly family income, per person, of up to three minimum wages.
Fies is a program of the MEC that grants funding to students in non-free higher education courses, in private higher education institutions. The fund is a modern student financing model, divided into different modalities, being able to grant zero interest to those who need it most. The scale varies according to the applicant’s family income.
