Houston Dynamo and Los Angeles FC draw 3-3

Memo Rodriguez signed a brace but Houston Dynamo had to settle for a 3-3 draw against FC Los Angeles on Monday.

Alberth Ellis also scored and Darwin Quintero provided two assists for Dynamo, which will replay Saturday, against the Portland Timbers.

Houston (0-1-2) remains winless since the arrival of a new coach, Tab Ramos.

Brian Rodriguez tied 3-3 in the 69th minute. He scored with a low shot, following a pass from Latif Blessing.

Bradley Wright-Phillips and Diego Rossi also hit the target for Los Angeles.

In the Wright-Phillips case, it was a 109th career regular season goal; he is now seventh in the history of the circuit in this regard.

FC (1-0-2) will replay Saturday against their Los Angeles rivals, the Galaxy.

Also Monday night, Sebastian Blanco got two points and the Portland Timbers beat the Galaxy, 2-1.

Blanco first made a short pass successfully redirected by Jeremy Ebobisse in the 59th minute.

Seven minutes later, a dazzling solo effort by Blanco reported. A header allowed him to get rid of Emiliano Insua, then Giancarlo Gonzalez played limply.

Alone and very close to the net, Blanco did not miss his chance to double the cushion.

The Galaxy was limited to Chicharito’s late goal in the 88th minute.

On the program Tuesday, in MLS: Chicago – Seattle (9:00 a.m.), NYC FC – Orlando (8:00 p.m.), and Philadelphia – Miami, at 10:30 p.m.
