On July 15, 2016, a series of events were organized in Marmaris district, one of the most important centers during the coup attempt of members of the FETÖ terrorist organization, for the ‘July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day’. In the coup attempt, the mother of police officer Nedip Cengiz Eker, who was martyred by the soldiers of the FETÖ terrorist organization, Güzel and his father Nihat Eker participated in the program. Muğla Governor Orhan Tavlı, Muğla deputy governors, political, non-governmental and association representatives, as well as many citizens filled the area with the Turkish flag in their hands. The program started at 20.30 with a minute of silence after Atatürk and the martyrs. After the Quran recitation, prayers were read. A cinevision show was held on July 15. The speech of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was given live in the cinevision. The students read their poems about July 15.
