ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Tampa Bay Rays put outfielder Austin Meadows on the injured list following a positive test for COVID-19.

The Rays announced the news Thursday evening.

The name of left-handed reliever Aaron Loup has been added to the formation of 40 players in place of Meadows.

The 25-year-old outfielder, who was named to the all-star team, posted a batting average of .291 last year with 33 circuits and 89 RBIs.

Meadows had not been seen at Tropicana Field since training with the Rays on July 3, the first day of summer camp.

He is the second player on the team to test positive for coronavirus. Right-handed pitcher Tyler Glasnow joined the team Tuesday after missing 11 days of summer camp.
