Quilmes incorporated new security cameras into the municipality's monitoring system

The mayor of Quilmes, Mayra Mendoza, presented this Wednesday the new security cameras that were incorporated into the municipal video surveillance and monitoring system that works at the Quilmes Emergency Center (CEQ).

“Today we are incorporating 80 new cameras. When we arrived at the Municipality, we found less than half of the total number of cameras working, and today, after 7 months, 90% of the cameras are in operation, ”he assured.

The mayor stressed that “this is a job that we believe is very important to do” and said that “it is our objective also to be able to double the number of cameras that exist in Quilmes in this management”.

The intention of the leader of La Cámpora is “Add a tool to crime prevention, to the prevention of the events that cause us so much fear, so much insecurity, and we deserve to live calm and safe. ”

In addition to the expansion of security cameras, Mendoza highlighted the technological improvements incorporated into the municipal monitoring system, storage to cover the legal term of the cameras, and the restoration of the fiber optic network in the district, among other devices and elements.

The head of the Cabinet participated in the activity, Alejandro Gandulfo; the Secretary of Security and Urban Planning, Gaspar De Stéfano; the undersecretary of Operational Security Coordination, Diego Feustel; the undersecretary of citizen security, Maria Sol Barrabino and the CEO of CEQ, Luis Bratti.

Mendoza also recently achieved the incorporation of 10 new trucks for the municipal collection system. The acquisition of the vehicles is part of a series of actions that were taken given the critical situation in which the current government received the collection system on December 10, 2019. At that time, of the 34 existing trucks, only 15 were operating .

The acquisition of the 10 new vehicles is part of the Quilmes Limpio program, under which the local government plans a series of actions to improve the municipality’s environmental situation. Among them, the construction of Quilmes Ecoparque Socio-environmental Complex and the duplication of the existing Ecopoints as of December 10, 2019.
