The Safe Tourism Certification Program, which was launched under the coordination of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and is one of the first examples in the world, provides a Safe Tourism Certificate in terms of compliance with health, hygiene and social distance rules in three categories: hotels, restaurants and cafes, tour and transfer vehicles. . VOLUNTEER STARTED AND MUST
The Safe Tourism Certification Program, launched in June and initially determined on a voluntary basis, has now become mandatory for all hotels by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA), according to the ministry across Turkey as of July 3 and found a total of 929 hotels, including municipal certificate application. 503 of these hotels managed to obtain a ‘Safe Tourism Certificate’. The application of 2 hotels was not approved as a result of the inspections. While 788 of the applications were ministerial and 141 were municipal certified hotels, 434 with ministerial certificates and 69 hotels with municipal certificates were issued.
THE MOST CERTIFIED HOTEL AT ANTALYA
Antalya, Turkey ranks first in terms of both applications and document the number of hotels. Istanbul ranks second in terms of the most certified hotels and number of applications. While a total of 138 applications were made in Istanbul, 74 hotels were awarded certificates. 129 hotels with ministerial certificates and 9 hotels with municipality certificates applied in Istanbul. 72 hotels with ministry certificates and 2 hotels with municipality certificates received certificates.
In terms of the number of hotels that are applied and certified, Antalya and Istanbul are especially important in terms of domestic tourism mobility such as Muğla, Trabzon, Ankara, İzmir, Bursa, Afyonkarahisar, Balıkesir, Kocaeli, Nevşehir, Konya, Gaziantep, Rize, Sakarya, Bingöl, Denizli, Tekirdağ. provinces followed.
HIDDEN CUSTOMERS WILL CHECK
The Healthy Tourism Document defines a wide range of new measures, from accommodation to catering facilities, from the staff of the facility to the health status of the guests. It consists of 157 criteria for hotels and 122 criteria for restaurants and cafes. With the QR code system to be included in the certificates, all customers will be able to see the audit history of the facility where they stay. Some of the monthly inspections will be announced and some will be unannounced. From time to time, the auditors will remain at the facilities as secret customers and examine the measures taken on site.
