Several days' boil water advisory has been issued for these boroughs of Montreal

Residents of certain boroughs in eastern Montreal will have to boil their water for the next few days.

The city of Montreal issued a boil water advisory since Thursday evening in the area Mercier-Est, in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, and for a small part of theAnjou district.

A 48-hour boil water advisory starting July 2 was issued.

This so-called preventive measure is due to “a broken pipe in the drinking water supply network caused by a private contractor in rue De Boucherville, between rue Fonteneau and avenue Chénier”.

Residents concerned are asked to boil the water at least one minute before consuming it.

Another notice will be issued after the past 48 hours, on July 4, to inform of an extension or a return to normal.
