FRANCE-BACCALAUREAT-RESULTS: The success rate for the 2020 baccalaureate close to 96%
PARIS (Reuters) – The success rate for the 2020 baccalaureate, which was mainly based on continuous monitoring due to the coronavirus epidemic, stands at 95.7%, according to figures published on Saturday by the ministry of National Education.
“At the end of the first group tests, the overall admission rate was 91.5%. After the second group tests (catch-up), this rate reached 95.7%, thus allowing 713,900 candidates to become baccalauréat holders “, writes the ministry led by Jean-Michel Blanquer in a press release.
Candidates who have not been able to present continuous assessment results may take the replacement tests organized in September.
The success rate for the bac 2019 stood at 88.1%, all series combined, a very slight decrease compared to 2018 (- 0.2 points).
In France, the baccalaureate is a national diploma attesting to the end of general, technological or vocational secondary studies. It provides access to higher education.
