Parchim. After a baby welcome party in the Hagenow area in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, twelve people are now infected with the corona virus. 35 people are said to have taken part in the family celebration – 200 contact persons are said to be in quarantine.
A spokesman for the district of Ludwigslust-Parchim said on Thursday. Of the twelve cases, eleven were in the district and one in Schwerin. Around 200 contact persons are in quarantine, and there should be further tests on Thursday.
According to a report by the “Schweriner Volkszeitung”, a baby welcome party with more than 35 people in a small town near Hagenow was probably the source of the infection. For the most part, this took place outdoors, but because of the weather, the party continued in a garage. Accordingly, an employee of the job center in Hagenow is among the infected. It was closed completely until further notice, as it says on the job center’s website.
