(ANSA) – ROME, JULY 22 – Researchers are making progress on the coronavirus vaccine but “realistically” it will not be ready and available before the beginning of 2021. According to Mike Ryan, the director of the WHO emergency program.
“We need to be able to look our communities in the eye and make sure that we have taken all possible precautions to make the vaccine safe and effective before we can distribute it,” he said. “Even if it means slowing down” the development process of the anti-Covid19 antidote.
“Realistically we will have to wait for the first few months of 2021 to see people get vaccinated,” said Ryan. (HANDLE).
